HP sells, but the feeling of torque right off the line seals the deal. And the propper saying for torque is lbs/ft. Like newton meters, its always weight over distance, thats torque. My dream engine? It really depends on the car really. If I had a light sports car, say a british sports car, a hi-reving major hp motor like a 302 chevy would be cool. But Ill use my Z for this instance. I would like a 427 small block, iron block, aluminum heads. Over 500hp/lb-ft. It would have to be fuel injected and I would want some type of Accel DFI set up where I can tune on the fly. I would have to have it backed by a T56 6spd from a viper or a rebuilt one from a fbody. It would be sent down a chromolly DS to a 9 inch(only ford thing Id buy) wiht a set of 4.10's in the back. The 4.10's with teh 6spd will work out greatly as I can get good MPG and great launch to scare away all that try to mess with this Z. So there is my motor. A big bore, big stroke hp and torque motor.Originally posted by BBcamaroSS@Jan 2 2004, 03:58 PM
Which do you prefer, I say that Horsepower sells the car but torque moves the car considering most people dont know much about cars. And what do you prefer saying; foot pounds or pound feet for torque? Considering that lb-ft is the unit of measure while ft-lb is the measure for work. Even though work and torque arent exactly the same thing.Oh and what would be your dream engine? and how would you like it to sound?
