I like both. I think an engine that has good low end, mid range and top end is the most fun. I hate when an engine lunges and then falls flat on its face and I hate when you have to wait until the engine hits 5 grand or for the VVT/turbo/whatever to kick in.

Dream engine? Well, keeping it SOMEWHAT realistic, 6.0, LS2 with cam phasing and twin (smaller) turbo's. I like the fat torque curves they are starting to get with turbo's. 90% of torque from 1800 just about to redline sounds good to me, if there is a way.

About the Sound. Does anyone like anything other than V8s? I think some of the older raspy race engines sound good regardless of configuration. But for a daily I like quiet rumble when idling or easy driving and free breathing quick revving sound when on the boil.
