I'm digging that front end. Especially those headlamps.

The rear tailight looks kinda played out though. Looks like that line has been tried before. I would like to see something different for the tailight configuration.

Now that could compete with the RL and Maxima, to name a few. Give it a real performance tuned suspension, then we have something. Or at least an option for a performance package that could put say $5000 on the price. Say, the Park GS.

GM won't bring it because it would outclass every single Cadillac instantly and it would even give the new CTS a run for its money. With the Enclave this would make a nice Buick flag ship. I say Keep the Enclave add the Park Avenue, Make a new Elipson 2 Lacrosse that is a coupe, convertible, and sedan and call Buick complete. They don’t have to have a big line up just two excellent sedans and one cross over. One of the sedans can have several variants and that’s it.

I must be missing something with this vehicle. The interior looks decent, but the exterior is incredibly "blah." The shape of the greenhouse is dangerously close to that of the Taurus/Sable, which is so reviled by many GM (and Ford) enthusiasts. The taillights look like they were lifted right off a Commodore. Normally I wouldn't care about something like that since they are sold on different continents, but with the G8 in America, it would simply be badge engineering.

The Enclave has set a very high bar as to what a Buick must look like in NA, and if the Park Avenue were to come to the US, it would pale in comparison.

This is such a boring design, I only find it appealing because the current Buick lineup is so bad. In profile it looks like an Audi A6 or the Ford 500, from the rear it could be an Impala, the front - a little 7 series BMW. The exterior is very incoherent. Now, the interior seems quite nice; worthy of a Buick or a Cadillac for that matter.

Mr Lutz, kill the DTS and the STS. Give Buick a proper, soft riding luxo-barge that starts around $35K and can be optioned up to $45K - that will satisfy the blue hairs and traditional GM fans. Then give Cadillac a similar sized vehicle that is competitive and priced between the 5 & 7 Series BMW and/or E & S Class Mercedes.

Its a nice car but its just not good enough. Both the exterior and interior is bland and outdated, nothing about this car screems luxury, ooo leather seats a folding table and a rear entertainment package with bland for even 1990's styling. This car would make buick a joke, a pathetic joke if they sold this here instead of creating a new lucerne (or replacement) as they are doing now.

Those of you who think this car isn't good enough for Buick are absolutely, positively insane. If your standard of luxury is a car like STS or DTS you have no business commenting in this thread.

It is a travesty to Buick and the US market that this car is not sold here and that instead we are stuck with the LaCrosse, Lucerne, STS and DTS. All of which are thoroughly embarrassing attempts at a near-luxury cars.

GM's problems are deep indeed.

Beautiful execution. Especially the interior. The exterior is very reminiscent of the Audi A8. Especially the greenhouse. My only complaint is the conservative front end. I guess there is only so much that can be done on this Holden rebadge.

Question for GM:

The reason why the NA market is not getting this car is... Hello? Anyone?
Agreed, the greenhouse is the RIGHT way to copy an Audi (wrong way being the Five Hundred/Taurus). But the nose of the Park Avenue is straight out of 1997, it's dated, not in keeping with Buick's design theme (Velite shield grille, etc). And the tail is a VERBATIM copy of the Aveo sedan and Impala tail! The lights, the chrome bar, everything. I don't think launching a new top of the line Buick that takes design cues from the Aveo is a good idea.

Wow... look what kind of content you can get with ridiculously affordable labor costs!

All jokes aside, even with the very WM-esque styling, this product IMHO is a no-brainer stateside. This will certainly relieve pressure on Cadillac to push the DTS so hard and give that brand room to ascend with a true flagship.

Holden with VE and WM has pretty much created the best-proportioned sedans on the market anywhere in my opinion. Yes, the exterior surfacing could use a little more pizazz and the taillights/chrome combo on the back is very current-Impala... but the overhangs, track, wheelbase, stance... they all create a product that looks like it's going to pounce. I think that's a key component of successful design.

Cadillac needs to step it up. All the German makes offer heated and recline rear seats like this Buick. Why hasn't Cadillac seem the need to offer this feature?

:dro: What a beautiful interior! The detail, the design! It's stunning and if it was brought over here GM would finally have an entry in the high end luxury sedan category. It would look so much better on the exterior if it was reskinnned a la Enclave, however it looks good enough as it is for right now. Bring it over! :yup:

Funny how you all drool about the interior, which is simply so-so (though perhaps light years ahead from GM NA standards), but moan about the exterior which is PERFECT. Subdued elegance, perfect proportions, understatement and chic - just what Buick needs!

Let Cadillac keep the brash and bling thing, you are right in comparing this Buick to Audi - both share the same traits (albeit Audi only of late) and guess what - Audi sells!

Very nice overall, but look at the gaps around the headlights and the hood to the bumper... Not very nice IMO. Other then that it's pretty good. The interior doesn't have the flair of the G8 or the Holdens, but I guess that's Buick.
