I've been told that the dealer receives 5% of the sticker price from GM for a GMS sale.

That's the way it was with the old Option 2 plan, but they could set their own price there. With GMS, it's fixed.

I believe everything is now considered GMS, I no longer see a GMO option when I log into the GM employee site.

for those in the know... any idea how quickly GM cars typically get added to the GM supplier discount program? my company is a GM supplier, but i know that most new models aren't under the program at first (especially the hot, cool cars). the vibe wasn't for several months after introduction. just curious when something like the equinox or colorado/canyon might be offered. or maybe it's totally arbitrary and there's no answer.

The reason for my question was this. I bought a car 2 years ago on GMS. I got hit with $400 bucks in taxes beacuse it was considered an employee benefit. I just bought a Cavalier and instead of using the GMS price ($265 in taxes) I just offered a dealer $175 under GMS and they took it. granted this might not work on my every model, but for my cav it worked like a charm.
