As I see it the Century for 97 and up was an older folks version of the Regal, bench seats, smaller engine, column shifter and no tach! It's core mission was a less expensive alternate to the Regal. But if GM is looking to condense they should have several iterations of the LaCross. Maybe a base model with the 3800 for about 21k, an upper model with new 3.6 engine for about 25k and maybe a top end model with either a blown 3800 or a V-8 of some sorts. That would be cool.
