dam.. i really wanted a sub3k lbs vette... oh well. oh yeah how bout some power raitings for the engine gad dang it!!

I'm really upset about the curb weight: 3214lbs

2004
Z06: 3115lbs
convertable: 3248lbs
coupe: 3246lbs

this car is almost 100 pounds heavier then the current Z06. If this car does not have more power throughout the band then Z06, I may be a little upset.

The LS1 in the 1970 T/As (400 Ram Air IV) is a pretty famous engine... I'm having a difficult time finding much information on a Chevy 427 called the LS1.

Whats wrong with the weight, this is the coupe/convertible model Im assuming and its still 30 some odd LBS lighter...whats the problem. If you want the uber fast light weight version weight for the Z version to come out a couple years down the line.

Seems GM is fond of recyling identifacation numbers. I know that the LS6 was a chevelle engine option. The Z06 was an trim option on ealy 60's vettes and...the Zr1 was something but I don't remember. The ZL1 (rumored) to be comming was the famous Super camaro code....ever think they will bring back the L-88?

oh and hows that power reat hatch going to work?

Damn...........I hope we get a ZL1 then cuz this just came out in tha new Car and Driver on the Gt.....looks like they upped tha power 2 me.

MORE power? Probably not, as much or near it enuff to keep up or surpass them? Yeah probably. But that I have a feeling ford is holding back on that 500hp raiting.. or at least what my mustang friends are telling me.

The old engines were LS1, ZL1 etc, the new engine is LS-1, (or is it the other way around?) the hyphen is is the difference.

ive heard a lot about a 500hp vette with a full carbon fiber body. not unilke the hood on the comp. edition. i read an artical a few weeks back that it will be the first mass produced full carbon body produced.... that should take care of any wieght issues
