GMC Sierra 3500, Intellilink Nav issue

How do I get the nav system to recognize Restaurants? I check the spot to indicate food sites, but nothing ever shows.. Also missing some fuel stations, medical, and just the basic stuff. I have resorted to taking my basic garmin along and put it up on the dash for that info, but it seems like the intellilink should be a little more intelligent? Why should I need an additional unit?
