I'm sorry if this has been posted before since I don't visit as often as I used to.

My question is concerning GM warranty in Canada (dunno if it's the same in the US):

Chevy/GMC: 3 years/60,000 km* Base Warranty
Buick/Cadillac: 4 years/80,000 km* Base Warranty

Up to there everything seems fine. Now this part I don't get:

Chevy/GMC: Powertrain Component Limited Warranty is now 5 years/160,000 km*
Buick/Cadillac: Powertrain Component Limited Warranty is now 6 years/110,000 km* (For 2007-2012 model years, the Powertrain Component Limited Warranty is 5 years/160,000 km.*)

How come the Buick (and Cadillac) warranty has been slashed? Sure one more year is fine but 50k km less? My Verano sees about 21k km per year. This means that for me there's not much difference. But does GM bet on Buick owners driving less and thus seeing a longer time as more beneficial than a longer distance? To me it seems like they should put 6 years/160 000 km.
