GM sets fuel cell vehicle distance record
By John McCormick

DARMSTADT, Germany -- Halfway through a 10,000 kilometer (6,200 mile) marathon run across Europe, a General Motors Corp. vehicle has established a new record for hydrogen fuel cell technology.

The HydroGen3, a version of GM's Opel Zafira minivan, completed 3,400 miles when it arrived in Darmstadt Monday. The previous distance record for a fuel-cell propelled vehicle was set by DaimlerChrysler at 3,262 miles in a 2002 coast-to-coast drive in the U.S.

GM's HydroGen3 began its journey in Hammerfest, Norway and expects to complete its trek June 11 in Lisbon, Portugal.

Hmmm, nice to hear, but I'm most interested in the sales records that these vehicles should be producing in the near (?) future. Get them to market, please, before Honda and Toyota beat you [again].
