GM is recalling 2020 Chevrolet Silverados and GMC Sierras as a result of a brake issue. The issue may impact braking performance and interfere with the rotation of the trucks' wheels.

The problem stems from brake caliper bolts that can brake as a result of not having been heat-treated properly during the manufacturing process. This can lead the bolts to break under heavy loads.

The recall impacts a little over 20,000 trucks and as part of it, GM will inspect and replace the bolts for no charge to the owner.

GM will notify owners of affected Silverados and Sierras and instruct them on how to make an appointment to have their trucks inspected. The recall is expected to begin on April 13.
