Holden's soon-to-be-extinct Elizabeth manufacturing plant just received a fresh order for a further 1,000 Chevrolet SS sedans.

The 1,000 car order is slightly strange when you consider GM has only sold 2,148 copies of the sport sedan since its US inception back in 2013. The official line from Holden is "an increase in customer demand," but it's believed this could be allocation for a final American market sendoff.

In order to complete the additional orders 280 workers will get a 2 week stay of execution before being rendered redundant, a further 40 workers will stay on even longer before being out of a job at GM.
