Is there any vehicle from GM now that would qualify as a mid-size crossover with off-road capability like the Volvo XC90 or the old AMC Eagle?
Nope. Well wait, you meant a fully functioning AMC Eagle, right?

I wouldn't say that the XC90 is good off road, but I'm pretty sure the crossovers don't have the same clearance.

The XC90 may not have heavier duty drivetrain components, doesn't have low range, etc but does have more ground clearance than most midsize crossovers

If so, not by much. I just ran a specs comparison on Edmunds and the XC90 and it and the four vehicles the site generated as competitors (X5, MDX, M-Class, Touareg) were all within a half an inch of each other in ground clearance.
