http://www.autoblog.com/2008/05/21/gm-lost-285-000-units-to-american-axle-strike/

Each week the strike has dragged out, GM has lost significant production (29,925 vehicles were lost in the week ending April 26 alone). If GM cannot boost additional manufacturing output, by the end of this week the total number of lost units could be as high as 285,503. Even if the American Axle strike is settled, the UAW is still striking at GM's Fairfax assembly plant over the role of seniority in job placement. That labor dispute alone is costing the company 4,627 units each week.

It's difficult to get good numbers from the Big 3 - Depending on the spin, they seem to have a set of books for everybody.......
I work for a parts supplier. We supply engine parts for the trucks among other things, so we have a decent handle on what they have and what they need. The public numbers were pretty good and they were not 6 months. And they are not 4 months now. But they are still far too high, I will admit that.

GM needs to build more Malibus and revise the interior of the Cobalt and sell more of those. Truck sales are not coming back. Smaller cars are going to be king.
Gee whiz! are you an industry analyst? Where are you getting your insider information on market trends?

....seriously though, hearing these redundancies all the time is old, tiring and redundant;)

Hehehe.:D I for one didnt mind the American Axle strike. With this high oil price slow growth economy less unsold vehicles in car lots the better.

You're not a lawyer are ya.

"I don't need evidence, I am just right".

More often than not, you're just wrong and arrogant.
Sorry but truth hurts. Prove me wrong that gm did not have 6 months supply of trucks and suvs before strike. Now they are using this as an excuse for upcoming quaterly report. Prove me wrong. Show everybody how i am wrong and arrogant. here is your chance.

Alright, what was the supply before the strike and what is it today? Are your numbers for all GMT-900s or just a specific model?

Nonsense, you lie all the time and then come back with this response. Your posts in the transmission threads are a great example of this. You made the crazy claim that nissan didn't have any four speeds and yet they sell a ton of them. If you can't get simple things right (like spelling) why should anyone believe your trash?

I don't have hard numbers, or copies of reports, I have what my managers told me, which is more than what VCDJ has...nothing.
