GM India sales up 69% in May

The country's leading car maker GM Motor India today said its May sales grew 69 per cent to 1527 as against 904 in the same month last year.

The company's cumulative sales during January-May 2004 moved up by 95 per cent to 4268 cars as compared to the year-ago period, a company statement said here.

GM India's May 2004 sales are about 9 per cent higher than the 1401 sold in the previous month ''The continuing growth in sales of GM in India is primarily due to the tremendous response to Chevrolet Optra and Opel Corsa models,'' GM India Vice President Corporate Affairs P Balendran said.

With only a small lineup!!

I wonder what will the grwoth be after introducing more cars (small and compact)??

The Aveo and the Spark would sell well in India in addition to the Lada based Niva..

I can't believe they are still selling the previous gen Corsa!!

That Corsa is like 4 years old :blink:
