Chevrolet appears to be working on another Silverado High Desert, as per a trademark filed with the USPTO on December 7.

Chevy is calling dibs on the name High Desert, which suggests that the brand is looking to continue selling the High Desert trim on the new Silverado.

First introduced at SEMA in 2016, the Silverado High Desert concept featured an illuminated black bowtie emblem, performance exhaust, bed dividers, and a sports bar. The next year, Chevy sold a Silverado High Desert with similar features (sports bar, bed divider, etc).

The whole package made the Silverado a little more like the Avalanche and was available on the LTZ and High Country models.

While there's no guarantee that the name will be reapplied to the Silverado, the trademark does specify that it will apply to an "option package for motor vehicles, namely, trucks, comprising sport bar with sail panel, lighted side box storage, hard tonneau cover, and power retractable assist steps sold as a unit."
