SHANGHAI, Feb 12, 2004 (AFX-ASIA via COMTEX) -- General Motors (NYSE GM) has cancelled plans to build two new sports utility models in China, which were originally announced in April last year, as the company moves to address problems at the worst-performing of its four manufacturing bases here.

Trailblazer isn't the only SUV in GM's lineup..... makes you wonder why in China?
Also... they are reinvesting in Brazil.

Now.... Toyota is investing heavily in China... and Gm looks like is pulling out of China.... not good GM... not good at all....

Perhaps you may need to re-read the article, I did twice, because there is no evidence that GM is pulling out of China.

Its performance stands in stark contrast with the success of the auto giant's other joint ventures in China. GM China sales rose 46 pct last year to 386,710 vehicles, while inventory at its flagship joint venture stood at 4,000 cars at the end of the year - just six days worth.

Looks like GM is doing GOOD in China.

GM also just bought an entire car company in South Africa too.....
