Cool, can't wait to see 'em in showrooms.

It'll be interesting to see how the market reacts to em.

Step back! Is this article for real?! How exciting! I was unaware that production was so imminent.
Yup, this is real! I was surprised too! Although they are currently testing how well the line works, so these vehicles are not going to be in dealers very soon. I think they just made a fex vehicles.

Based on looks alone I can see them out selling Malibu if the interior room is about the same. In fact, if quality is as good as Malibu appears to be and handling is better I can see this car selling honda Accord type number eventually.

Can't wait to test one out!!

I don't see the G6 reaching Accord numbers ever. Pontiac is not really a high volume brand like Chevrolet.

In any event, I'm looking forward to the G6. I hope it is a home run for GM. The exterior styling is superb IMO. The interior looks good except for the steering wheel. I hope the new 3.9L V6 is a good motor.

I think those are pre-production models...
Yes. This is a pilot production run. Typical in the industry. One of the last minute opportunities to see if things fit.

The G6 is supposed to be in showrooms by the end of the summer, so I dont doubt that they are close to producing a ready to sell unit. I imagine that the same thing is going on right now at the Lordstown plant where the Chevrolet Cobalt will be made and in Oshuwa where the Buick LACROSSE will be made. Bowling Green is probably getting ready to shift over to the C6 soon too.

The Grand Am was/is Pontiacs best selling car, so I dont doubt that the G6 will be produced in some serious numbers, I dont know if it will challenge the Accord or Camry, or Impala(which is number 3 and climbing :D ) but I think that the G6 has the style and pricing to make it one very hot car.

What is the capacity @ Lake Orion? I don't think it will out sell the leaders but it could get into range. A lot depends on the quality and the function of the car. I suspect once the Ecotec and 3.9 versions come on stream you will see volume really pick up. Adding the coupe and the convertable will add pizzaz and could push sales sky high.

Malubu is a great car, it's just dull to look at in sedan form especially. The G6 fixes an otherwise solid car and makes me want. :woot2:
