On the actual sticker the EPA provides a range of FE for both city and highway. All of the dealership (from any brand) seem to be advertising the max of the highway range instead of the actual number.

It is shaky advertising, but I have seen many, many dealerships do it now.

Maybe it could? Consider that the 2008 EPA ratings are with heavier driving I would believe something close to 36, according to the DIC, at like 60 mph with the cruise on, no air con, windows up

we have a local Hyundai dealer stating the sonata achieves 38 MPG, I am sure people just eat that up.

Technically that is with the EPA. Its not a number they made up. However they are not suppose to advertise it.
they can't?

Definitely sounds like it supposed to be G5 XFE. They are using that badge on them too aren't they?

I just had a Hyundai Sonota V6 rental. I never broke 20 mpg. My average was around 14-15 mpg. It was awful. The car handled nicely though and was pretty quiet.

I'd love to see a G6 get anywhere near that MPG claim. Even the G5 doesn't come near that unless it's the 5MT base model.

Two reasons... new car thus not broken in yet, second reason you were punching the gas and dragging all the Corvettes around you :drive: Them V6 Sonatas are fast as hell!
