Holden will continue to produce the Commodore in its full gamut of variations until production stops for good.

According to the Drive, GM's Australian division will not pull the plug on wagon, ute or V6 equipped models, allowing loyal customers to shape the end of Holden's local manufacturing operations.

"The current plan is that we will produce V6, V8 and all three body styles all the way through," Holden managing director Mark Bernhard stated.

"But again that will go down to customer demand."

Currently the brand is stockpiling V6 engines ahead of the Melbourne engine plant closure later this year--Commodore production will continue into 2017, but no stoppage date has been set yet.
