Fuji Heavy Industries has begun rolling out the Saab 9-2X, a car jointly developed with General Motors subsidiary Saab. GM owns 20 percent of FHI, which makes Subaru cars.

A line-off ceremony was held at Fuji Heavy’s at Yajima plant in Japan on March 12. The 9-2X is primarily aimed at the North American market. The five-door hatcback employs Subarau’s all-wheel-drive technology and sits on a Subaru platform. Saab has led the line in terms of styling and design.
92-X premiered in Los Angeles last December and was also shown at Detroit in January. It will be positioned as Saab’s entry model in North America,with sales starting in July.
