I found an iGoogle gadget called Car IQ. This shows a car and you have to name it. The early rounds you just need to name the manufacturer, later you have to name the make and model. It is strangely addictive. After about an hour, I have an IQ of 146.

I'm not sure whether this link works http://www.cargurus.com/Cars/games/cariq/new/viewMaximizedCarIQWidget.action
but if not you can add the the gadget through Google - just search for Car IQ.

As an Aussie, some of the US cars are a bit tough, but I was amazed how many I know. Playing Project Gotham 2 on Xbox helped too.

I dare you not to get hooked...

I played an earlier version of this on Facebook. I was eventually pushed over the edge with all the incorrect and impossible questions. They show an Avalanche and ask whether it is a 2005 or 2006. Umm...no f*^%(@g difference. Asstards. I quit playing.

I did play this new Car IQ, and I are a jeen-yus.

MAHHHH DAMN EUROS!! I know a European set this up. Highest so far is 158, keep getting caught up on years. I somehow got the name of car and company, but teh years were 2005, 2006, and 2007. Unless you knew the car that much, you would have no idea. There are also some screwwy ones that might have a different name elswhere. And what the hell is a Nissian Patrol? Thing looks like a lifted Bronco or K5!

The only way to have an idea with questions like that is to remember with what year those promotional photos went (if they are even professional photos). Heck, sometimes car companies reuse photos if nothing changes.

They are not real car gurus - they base the questions about model years too often off luck. That's not testing IQ, that's testing chance.
