Re: Oh, look what one of my fellow board members stumbled upon!

Someone please confirm that this is indeed a manufacturer plate?
Nope. Not any manufacturer plate I've ever seen. Maybe it is, but not like one that I've seen. They literally say "Manufacturer Plate" spelled out in small embossed letters on the plate.

It very well could be a privately owned, modded Focus but I find the trailer hitch unlikely

Take a quick guess at "MT" stands for.

It is a manufacturer's plate, after verification.

Looks like someone imported a Focus ST from Europe?
It isn't. -_-

Arizona is being flooded with test cars at this time of the year (sometimes not even for domestic consumption - although most vehicles, if they're already available elsewhere, will oft be made available in the short run) and unless they're wearing a Cali or Michigan manufacturer's plate they're wearing these.

Towing hooks are also dead-giveaways, why the f' would someone put it on an imported vehicle? Seriously?

As for the servicemen hypothesis, they can't bring over cars that easily, sorry guys.

It is a test vehicle, like it or not (you don't seem to, as you keep trying to dismiss it).

Yes, yes, yes. Now let's get to what's really important here ... How much was gas at that Shell station in the picture? ;-P

Sorry, what we can see of this hatch doesn't impress me.

Well I only see a head on the passenger side.....also look at the backing where the plate is long and narrow also that plate doesn't fit the space
I see shoulders on the drivers side and the mirror is oriented towards it.

And thanks for pointing that out, we really couldn't tell the plate doesn't fit properly. :v

I've only seen Michigan Manufacturer's Plates in person. But what does MT stand for?

maybe we will get the euro focus.

With the current models value pricing and subsequent popularity, I doubt it.

I see Missouri plates....but that sure doesn't look like it's in Missouri. I don't know of any car companies in that state either.

they don't make the hatch anymore. this might be just be a ride with some sweet mods.
They still make them in Eurpope, which is more than likely where this one came from. These aren't mods, it's the Euro-Focus.

or Mexican Focus - the ST is sold in Mexico.

Igor

Thanks for pointing out it was foreign guys, I really couldn't tell.

Fact is it's running on manufacturer plates. -_-

Manufacturer Test or something along those lines.

the AZ plates are NOT Manufacturer - Manufacturer plates are ALWAYS from the sate where the Manufacturer is based - for Ford- that is Michigan.

This is a privately owned car. And I am surprised s/he managed to get it registered in US - I had played around with the idea of getting an ST from Mexico, but I would have left it registered there ... I had thought having it registered here would not be possible ..
