Looks great...could make for a very nice Mercury as Ford heads towards its whole new global look NOT based on "kinetic design". Poor Mercury has not had something fresh since the last Cougar, which I loved the looks of.

Don't doubt it. It will be on the new C2 platform, thus making it relatively easy to build alongside the Focus in a US factory.

Wow, i didnt expect a niche car from ford till at least 2015 lol. I think this is great, and in order to survive in the NA market it would HAVE to be a Mercury, people dont want this, a hot little 2011 Focus hatch, AND the mustang in showrooms all to fawn over.
I think its design channels alot of Volvom C30 from behind and it does look like a direct VW Sirroco killer (sp)

A Focus-based 2-door hatch with 2+2 seating and a turbo 2.5L i5... wait a minute.
It sounds like the Ford version of the Volvo C30.

A highschool friend way back when had the first Capri, Mercury nameplate as I recall, in your face yellow...he loved it. It broke new ground back then, would be cool to see new product life breathed into Mercury vs. lame Ford rebadges with tweaked trim.
