2016 Honda NSX road and track review
The all-new Honda NSX is swift and accomplished in a quietly confident kind of way. Switched to Track mode, it's a force to be reckoned with.

Those familiar with the Porsche 918 Spyder hybrid will recognise elements of its make-up in the NSX. Up front are two electric motors with a combined output of 72bhp. These provide all-wheel-drive tractability, EV-mode stealth and torque vectoring capability through their overdriven planetary gearsets. In the back, wedged between the 500bhp twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre V6 and its nine-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, is a third, 50bhp motor that helps the engine to deliver low-speed torque while it waits for the boost to build to its 1.05bar peak. Combined real-world power output is 573bhp – enough to be considered worthy of the supercar badge.

Jason Harper and Basem Wasef wring out the 2017 Acura NSX in the hills of Sonoma California.

Autoblog.com

"The 2017 Acura NSX is heavy. It outweighs the original 1990 car by more than 800 pounds and is over 300 heavier than a Chevrolet Corvette Z06. The NSX is insanely complicated, with an assist motor between the twin-turbo V6 and the nine-speed dual-clutch transmission, plus two torque-vectoring electric motors at the front axle. And the NSX is expensive. It will probably cost $170,000 when it goes on sale in Spring 2016. Commence trolling."

Just not seeing this as a Ferrari competitor. I don't even think it looks much more exotic than my Stingray...maybe less, and certainly not on Z06 levels. That being said... Props to Honda doing for Acura what GM won't effin do for Caddy

Yeah. This mostly sums up how I feel.

I get the performance, get everything, yada yada, but I'm not seeing this as looking the part so much. Wish it were just... I don't know. It somehow looks too Honda and not Honda enough to me.

But that's just a nitpick. I still like the design, and I still think it looks much better than the new R8.

Yes, an amen to Honda for finally pulling the trigger on a car like this for Acura.

And... The new car will be built exclusively at Honda’s Performance Manufacturing Centre in Ohio, where around 100 highly skilled “low-volume production specialists” will conduct full body construction, paint and final assembly. Badged as an Acura in the States, it’ll be sold as a Honda in the UK.

I was all excited for this (I loved the previous Gen) but now I'm kind of Meh on it. Not sure why. I kind of am more interested in the new Ford GT for some reason. Don't hate!!! :)

BTW, still wish Honda made a modern version of the Prelude.
