The very first C7 Corvette ZR1 is going to auction, and like the first Corvette Carbon 65 sold off earlier this year, the proceeds will support veterans.

This time it's to benefit the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation. The group is named for a New York City firefighter who died during the 9/11 attacks. The charity supports wounded veterans by building mortgage-free homes for severely injured service members. The homes have automated doors and lighting, wider halls, and special showers, among other features designed to improve accessibility and let them live more independently.

The 755 hp supercharged Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 coupe will be sold at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction this January. The auctioned car will be the first production model to roll off of the Bowling Green assembly line, the car's we've seen in Dubai and LA are effectively hand build prototypes for display purposes.
