You are correct in the Totalitarian nature of the WEF and it’s current trajectory of driving political policy. It’s a proper classic Politburo modelled in the classic sense.
Answerable to no one but itself, and has no regard for National citizens priorities.

Watch the speech and see that the priorities outlined by Klaus are what the EU us persuing.

At some point, this organisation is going to be declared hostile to the United States
I know it's really shallow minded of me, but I don't live in Europe, not caring as much what they do when we can't get our own fecal matter together or pay attention to one topic long enough to do something about it.......squirrel!!

Indeed. And the tired argument of - until we all do something, no one should do anything - is nothing more than the classic race to the bottom. Facile beyond belief

Always good to see these (ahem) internationally respected amateur-expert climatologists here on GMI 👍

you better pay attention to how many of your political candidates have been to their ‘young leaders’ 5 year boot camp before you vote.

Cats in Australia kill over 2 billion wild animals each year.

In just one day, Australia’s millions of cats kill approximately 1.3 million birds, 1.8 million reptiles and over 3.1 million mammals

I totally HATE cats! 😠

Oh please. Stop sounding like the Right-wing villain from all those environmental disaster movies.

I'll vote on the side of the future every time, regardless of party. I have NO party affiliation, I'm pro-America not pro-Republican or pro-Democrat. Country before Party. A little inconvenience for me might lead to a better life for my grandkids. America can't afford political candidates that live in the past. Why make America great again when we can make America Better Now...and Tomorrow?

Definitely. It's easy to say, "Zero? You can't reach zero!"

Of course you can't, but it doesn't matter. It's just like M. Barra's zero, zero, zero goal. Of course they are impossible goals to attain, but that doesn't mean they are a wrong idea. If you pick a goal of a certain reduction (50%, 25%, whatever) that IS achievable, once you reach it, you quit,. Because you've reached your goal.

If your goal is unachievable, it just becomes a "direction" to move in. And it never ends, because you always WANT to improve it, to get closer to zero.

OMG!! I hate to tell you, but cats do what cats were designed by God to do. You know, like humans?
Cats are what's known as predators. I'm certain you learned that in sixth grade physics class. They're like wolves, sharks, many whales, many many fish species. And birds. And reptiles. Reptiles kill animals too!!! And mammals!! Mammals kill!! Do you hate all life on earth? If so, Muvver Earff will not be pleased with you. Because death is a way of life.

How many critters go to the slaughterhouse every year to feed hoomans? Do you hate hoomans? Take a slaughterhouse tour some time.

But thanks so much for your observations and insights! I had no idea you were so deep. :geek:

BTW, you forgot bugs. Cats kill bugs too. I've seen it happen. One of our cats terminated a fly just last night. It was horrible!! The blood! The gore!! The algore!!

Our previous, climate denier Conservative government (thankfully recently ousted) used to peddle the lie of “we only generate 1.3% of the world’s CO2. But even if it was zero, with the gross polluters like China, India, US etc, it wouldn’t make any difference whatsoever to the overall emissions worldwide, not a scintilla.”

Excuse me, 1.3% is 1.3. it is not 0%. And cumulatively all of those smaller nations like ours with similar output becomes ~20% of total. Which IS significant.

In other words, everything contributes and you gotta start somewhere. Because in my country we are already witnessing the effects of climate change, just as science predicted, and yep it’s ugly

Newsflash, Einstein. Cats don’t belong in our country. They are a recently introduced species. Like a noxious weed, ya know?

On second thought, given your record, no you probably don’t.

I totally agree. I remember when America tried to improve itself, when polluting was seen as wrong and it was one of the many "American duties" we had to not trash the place. Now, if you DON'T dump your old motor oil on the ground you're a Socialist. When did it become politically motivated to pick up after yourself or not poison the water table? We politicize trash for Pete's sake. Ugh.

So you never learned the difference between physics and biology? Explains a lot.

Well, they're there now. This not-native species introduction happens all over Muvver Earff. Sometimes it's not very good for the locals. Probably a few ship's cats got loose in Australia way back in sailing days.
Some idiots let their cute little "pet" pythons loose in the Everglades and that's not worked out so well.

So you never learned the difference between physics and biology? Explains a lot.
And you can't tell the difference between straight and satire? LOLZ.

The irony here is that American conservationists and environmentalists used to be drawn from the ranks of conservatives and America's conservative political party.

I just said that you pay attention to the political affiliations of those you are considering to vote for.
I have come to the conclusion that WEF is not acting in my or my families best interest. If you believe Klaus Schwab and his bots are there to serve your interests, by all means, vote for that future. But I will oppose it.

Maybe Earth nurtured conditions for humans to evolve to a point where we as humans would create internal combustion engines that used refined oil to increase Co2 levels in the atmosphere for a purpose we are not yet aware of.

Have you met the U.S. federal Government??

They enact a simple scenario, like creating a toll to pay for road construction... they achieve that... then continue the toll for another 50 or 75 years (no one knows- no tolls have ever been discontinued). Big Gov't doesn't have any remote idea what 'reaching a goal' is.

OK, hiluxxulih, you're getting into complex thought and the spiritual realm here.
