The Buick Invicta Concept won't debut for about two weeks, but we've managed to put together two illustrations showing exactly what to expect. The Invicta is a preview of the production 2010 Buick LaCrosse, which is shown in detail in these latest illustrations. The Invicta might have some added show car details, but these images should reflect the LaCrosse production model precisely.

I hope not! That is SO MUCH tamer than I have been hoping for, prodded by the stunning Riviera concept. Posters here had previously said they'd seen the next LaCrosse and that we would "be shocked"...this rendering is not remotely shocking. Here's hoping it is dead wrong, at least for this fan of head turning provocative styling.

A little Passat here, a little Accord there.

I do like the way the upper body crease scallops through the rear door. This rendering is done in a very "busy" style. And if this is indeed the production car, it won't appear quite so faceted as this drawing might indicate (which is good in my opinion).

I don't like drawings. They like to mess with our heads and they aren't always the most accurate renderings either. I will reserve my final judgment until I can see and actual vehicle in person, GM still needs to get another photographer cuz their pictures still don't do their cars any justice.

there was never any indication that this car would have design elements from the riviera concept.
Actually there were repeated references to it following the lead created by the Riviera.....so being a hopeful man by nature I have been REALLY hoping it might be a slightly toned down Riviera but longer and sleeker. This drawing looks very safe and generic and derivative to my eyes vs. the head turning wow factor of the Riviera. But then again, at 54, I remember when production Buicks WERE stunning to behold, like the first Riviera and the various incarnations of the Wildcat and Electra. Oh well.

I like the front end. But not so much the back end.

The car is too edgy. Buick should be about nice smooth lines.

The rear tail lights should look more enclavish. And smooth out the lines some and I think this could be a great car.

Those newest sketches are great!

If this concept actually looks like that, the brand will have a renaissance on the design alone. Ok, there seems be some Honda Accord-ish styling, but that not a bad thing considering the vehicle should appeal to a large, general demographic. The sketch actually makes the concept look a bit "muscular" and could be a large flagship sedan for the Honda/Acura brand.

GM should do it. Build off of the Enclave design and not go in some (seemingly) different direction and once again lose the possible core (buying) consumer with all these vehicles that don't look like they belong to the same brand.

It's the greenhouse that ruins it. It's too round and makes it look tall and fat. Just like the Accord, and Sebring, and G8.

It SHOULD be more flat at the top, and stretched out. That's what gives the malibu its sort of sleek luxury look.

The Lacrosse is going to be on an all new platform, right? I sure hope this shape doesn't represent future cars that are currently using epsilon.

I'm always skeptical with rendering unless GM themselves released them. All I know is that insiders have nearly unanimously agreed that is is a "stunning" vehicle. It's unusual to hear what all has been heard from insiders on this car....

I dunno. I see some Hyundia Sonata in the front and some Lexus IS in the rear. Not a huge fan of either. It's been done. So is this RWD or FWD? If it's FWD that may explain the larger front overhang. If it's RWD I would expect a smaller front overhang (see G8, Solstic/Sky).

The smaller front overhangs is one reason I have liked GM's designs in the most recent past.

True, I guess I was expecting more Riv concept. It's an improvement over the current LaCrosse, vastly. But not enough to get a Lexus owner to trade in their ES.

well, I can't say that I like this package as a whole. For some reason, proportioning reminds me of a Chrysler Sebring. The New one, and that my friends is very, very bad. The front of the vehicle does not sit too well with me either. The back looks just fine, I see a family resemblance in the proportioning to the Enclave. The side accent line is very nice as well. It is just that front end that is really bugging me.

I guess it could be described as being front-heavy; too much of a cab-foreward design and not enough hood.

Looks good, looks like an IS300 in front and an 08 Accord in rear...

You mean BMW 5 series in the rear, which the Accord ripped off.

I actually really like it. Sure, it's a rendering, blah blah blah... but I personally think the styling looks great. I can really see Epsilon-II family resemblence to the Opel Insignia, especially the rear.
