Does an HSV V8 Version of Cadillac's CTS Make Sense?
Carscoops

This is an artist's impression of what a Holden Special Vehicles (HSV) edition of a V8-powered Cadillac CTS could look like – if they ever made one, that is.

None of this has been confirmed, but there's no harm in using your imagination, especially if you can put it on paper, or rather on your PC screen, like Australian industrial designer, Michael Gray, did with his HSV version of the Cadillac CTS.

First challenge is to get it in RHD. Secondly, the CTS-V will cover the mega-power end of things for the CTS, and the still-more-than-enough-power is accomplished by the LF3 in he CTS Vsport.

Making the point of this hypothetical car.....?

No way is Mr. de Nysschen going to entertain the notion of mildly modified Cadillac sold with Holden badges. If the CTS gets to Australia it'll be marketed as a Cadillac.
HSV badges in this instance not Holden badges. You never tell a HSV owner they're driving a Commodore. It's just an unwritten rule.

But man that image needs to be destroyed, It's hideous

I dunno, he might have a future as an animator for the next 'Cars' movie...

Yeah no.

I see HSV's future more with hot Opels than anything American/Korean. And I suspect not necessarily exclusively GM in the future.

Ok splitting hairs, but the same applies to HSV badges imo. No way would Johan/Cadillac/GM let that happen. Anyhow if HSV wanted to modify the CTS, (a la Alpina badged BMW's) wouldn't it be more appropriately badged a CSV?

I'd rather see the Cadillac brand here properly with tuning by Walkinshaw much like they do now with Holdens and HSV's

I expect the V range is hot enough and Cadillac don't need a HSV range.

What's the latest word about an alpha-based Chevrolet SS and Holden SS?
Autocar - New supercharged Vauxhall VXR8 to be built in US
Senior GM engineer Dave Leone was quoted as saying that the Detroit carmaker is interested in continuing the series beyond Holden's manufacturing closure.

“If you are a performance enthusiast, then rear-wheel drive is the way to go and that’s the part of the rear-drive [GM] Alpha platform will play,” he said.
