California is an enormous car market, and I'm waiting for Detroit to care. It's long overdue and good business.

Hmmm, this will be interesting to see how this decision plays out. Although Cadillac and GMC (and more recently Pontiac) have made impressive gains across the country, I'm not so sure how that translates in CA. And as much as I would never buy a foreign nameplate to drive around in, it seems that owning a foreign name dealership would be more lucrative. If he in fact made this decision several years ago, it might be akin to selling low and buying high, overall.
