Delphi Technology Featured by Cadillac at NAIAS
Press and public to experience Delphi products at luxury automaker's booth
Sunday January 4, 9:00 am ET

DETROIT, Jan. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Visitors to the North American International Auto Show will get the opportunity to experience Delphi Corp.'s (NYSE: DPH - News) MagneRide™ Suspension System and Forewarn® Adaptive Cruise Control without ever getting into a vehicle.

General Motors Cadillac division will display the technologies at its booth during this week's auto show. Guests to the area will have the opportunity to interactively experience MagneRide, while Forewarn Adaptive cruise control will be illustrated in a video.

"Auto show goers will be able to touch, see, feel and experience Delphi's technology at Cadillac's auto show stand," said Andrew Brown, Jr., Delphi executive director of engineering. "MagneRide and Forewarn Adaptive Cruise Control are key technologies we are proud to showcase in conjunction with Cadillac."

Using a 42-inch plasma screen and a hands-on, interactive lever demonstration, the display will illustrate how Delphi's proven MagneRide semi- active suspension system (which GM calls Magnetic Ride Control) provides fast, smooth, continuously variable damping allowing for increased passenger comfort and increased tire/road contact on all types of surfaces. The cost-effective system reduces vehicle body motion and increases tire/road contact while providing a quieter, more refined ride.

Video will take visitors out to the road where Delphi's Forewarn Adaptive Cruise Control system measures the distance and relative speed of vehicles ahead using a long-range radar sensor concealed beneath the front bumper of the vehicle. When activated, the system adjusts the cruise control speed, if needed, to slow down for upcoming traffic using throttle control and limited braking. The driver selects the headway, which can be between 1.0 and 2.0 seconds. The system can also help detect if another vehicle crosses into the radar's path and respond appropriately.
