Why are their 2002, 2003 and 2004 model years in the "Final 500"?

The models were not all discontinued together. The Intrigue was the first casualty, followed by the Aurora, then finally the Silhouette, Bravada and Alero.

Uhhh,

I guess there's some collectablity here, but I would definitely not value it at $150,000!

Figure the Aurora, if it's a V8, is worth about $18k. The Bravada and Intrigue maybe $15k each. Then the Alero is a good daily driver - say $10k. Then the five model year old dustbuster van??? I guess it could be a good buy at around $6999.

So I see about $65,000 worth of vehicles, and unless an Oldsmobile museum in Lansing Michigan is interested, I'll bet that's about what the dealer will end up getting.

It is sad to think that too many late Oldsmobiles became J.D. Byrider specials sold to people who do not give a damn about how their car looks. It is at least nice to see these cars in nice shape - clean floormats, unwrinkled leather, and mirror-like paint.

It's hard to believe that in less than 20 years, Oldsmobile went from 2nd place in domestic car sales to this. Olds actually beat out Ford in car sales for a few years in the mid '80s...

Sheesh.

If I were a collector I'd pay that. These aren't used cars gathered up as a collection, these are brand-new cars that you are pretty much guaranteed not to find again. As mundane as they may be, they are significant cars as they mark the end of America's oldest production car company. These cars aren't to be bought and driven, rather to be stored in remembrance.

They've been sitting on a dealer lot somewhere for at least four years each. Those cars are probably not in driving condition anyway. Likely the batteries are dead, the oil has turned to sludge and the coolant is worthless.

If I was running a museum I'd probably buy them.

I'd buy the Ebay Oldsmobiles except the piece of burned toast with the Virgin Mary on it cleaned me out.

What kind of lame showrom is that? You come in to buy a new car and it's filled with relics from 4-6 years ago?
They probably just noticed that there were still cars in the showroom when they went in there to sell the furniture and vacate the premises.

They are way overpriced.
believe me if I had the money I'd buy them without a single hesitation!
you can't put a price on history, this might as well be the only chance I'd get to own a showroom condition, nearly brand new, Oldsmobile
