DaimlerChrysler to start selling Dodge cars globally
Viper will be offered this year; passenger cars to follow in '06

DaimlerChrysler AG’s Chrysler Group will expand its Dodge brand outside North America as the automaker tries to boost sales worldwide.
Dodge — the quintessentially American maker of Viper sports cars and Ram trucks — will become Chrysler’s third brand sold in major overseas markets with the European introduction of the Dodge Viper SRT-10 sports car later this year, followed by additional passenger cars set to launch in 2006.
“It’s another stepping stone for us to become competitive internationally and become a stronger company,” Chrysler Chief Operating Officer Wolfgang Bernhard said in an interview Sunday at the 2004 North American International Auto Show.
