In the latest move, partnership officials revealed plans to ship a small, multipurpose van to Canada. GM will sell the Korean Rezzo as the Chevrolet Vivant in Canada, company officials say.

This thing is called a GM Daewoo Tacuma in Australia and most other countries. It's been around for a pretty long time!!

Since GM took over Daewoo, it's basically taken all Daewoo cars and rebadged them Chevrolet's, Suzuki's and Pontiac's!!

:angry: Great! Us Canadians just get another Daewoo runoff. When will they ever learn to stop the small cars. We should be getting more trucks and suvs. The cars are for new generation drivers but are not good in the winter. Here in the Great Lakes we have a lot of snow and blowing snow. The 50 cm Halifax just got, an Aveo or whatever next they bring won't make it.

ugh! i have no problem with GM badged daewoos (no, i don't... wanna fight about it?!? )... but that thing is WEIRD! i think the current daewoo rebadges translate into decent chevrolets... but how does THAT microvan slot in? they'd have to lose the odd swoopy side sculpting before i'd accept that as a chevrolet. yikes!

Laugh at me if you like, but I actually wanted one of these a couple of years back. They seemed to offer a lot for the price, and the rumor was that Daewoo was going to bring these to the US. They had a "choose a name for this vehicle" on the Daewoo USA website, and the winner was supposed to get one.

I entered a few names (I had just won an on-line shopping spree a few months before and was feeling lucky). My favorite name I came up with for this vehicle was the Daewoo Jitney.

Aside from the swoopy styling, this car reminded me of the Mitsubishi Expo (Eagle had a version, too), which might have been the first true "tall wagon" in the US market.

ah yeah! forgot about that! we had the plymouth colt version in canada. you could get it AWD. i think it even had a sliding rear side door! i was looking for one as a winter beater a few years back. you're totally right... the original mini minivan!

jitney? yowza! something about the front makes me think mercedes! kinda A-class i guess. good lord that thing is swoopy though... that's the only word for it! if i start to like this thing i'm fully blaming you!

It went from Plymouth Colt ---> Eagle Summit ---> Mits [something-or-other] here.

Funny that they would use the same name for a sedan and tall wagon at the same time :lol:

Actually, I think Chevy should be selling this car as the Aveo. It has a little more personality (though I do like the current Aveo for what it is).

how big is this thing? i can't get a good feel for its size. is it actually plymouth colt sized? larger? smaller? it's an odd duck for sure. might be nifty if it came AWD... a nice little safe winter vehicle for small families.

It's strange GM is bringing so much Daewoo to Canada and not the U.S. I think it looks ok.

Could it be the UAW is more militant about these Chevy imports than the CAW??

Personally, I would never buy one. If I buy a Chevy, it will be US / Canadian sourced or I may as well buy a Honda or Nissan.

Take Chevrolet out of Europe, for goodness sakes. All they have are Pontiac minivans , and Oldsmobile sedans. The only thing they need is a Corvette, not any stupid no-good cars like Daewoo Rezzo.
That was originally supposed to be sold here. I went to an Auto Show a few years ago, and they said Daewoo was supposed to sell an SUV. Then, Daewoo went out of business.

Man they are betting high on Daewoo this time. Last time they made it for only 2 1/2 years, this time they will have 4+x's the product. If it doesn't make it that will be even more hard to find parts and repair for dealers in Canada.
