Maybe cars won't be disposable anymore....that's a good thing.

They'll always be disposable in the rustbelt. Rust never sleeps, even in EV's!!

ICEVs or EVs, rust just isn't the issue it used to be.

Maybe not in your area, but the highly corrosive brine they now put down on our Pocono winter roads is horrible. Ram trucks show box rust through first with GM and Ford(pre AL) trucks a few years later. Frames can be uninspectable in a dozen years. Brake and fuel lines are fortunate to make it ten years.

After its fifth winter, a minor incident required fender replacement on our '14 Volt. The hardware was so rusted I had to use a cutoff wheel to remove it. Rust remains an issue, but body "rust through" has improved.
