I was just wondering if anyone knows what the compression ratios are for each of the three G6 engines:

- 2.4L inline 4 cyl. 175 hp 170 lb-ft of torque
- 3.5L V6 200 hp 220 lb-ft of torque
- 3.9L V6 245 hp 245 lb-ft of torque

If anyone knows what they are or where I can find the info that would be great. Thank you!

3900:

Rated at 240hp at 5900 rpm and 245 lb.-ft. of torque at 2800 rpm, the 9.8:1 compression LZ8 will make 90 percent of its peak torque between 1800 and 5800 rpm.

3500:

9.8:1

(I only speak of Saabs since they are more or less the leader in modern turbo technology)
My factory turbocharged 1989 Saab 900 has a compression of 9:1 and is rated to run on 87 to 93 octane fuel with no problems...

There are many stock Saab Turbo cars (light pressure turbo models) running with compressions of 10:1 or more, so you should have no problem...

but why?
