Sadly that $60K behometh is too large to actually operate in true offroad conditions. I don't have open desert where I live and I have to imagine NJ doesn't either. It also gets about 12 mpg in the real world making it pretty crappy in the urban jungle as well. Hell it has to have factory installed running lights because it's overwidth.

Stop compensating Bro. A large truck doesn't make your dork any larger.

Nice truck, too bad the frame bent when it landed!:rotf::001_tt2:
Beat me to it!

If one of those things was given to me, I'd own it just long enough to take it to a Chevy dealer to trade for a Z71 Silverado.

ZR2, schmeeR2... What we need is a big bowtie on the hood:

In seriousness, lest we forget the other way to build a "rugged" truck:

Yeah well.... due to timing as others have said already - seems much of what would be nice just ain't likely.

Although , a 5.3 announcement followed later with an announcement that the 2.8 TD is coming sooner than expected would be .... sweet.

So.... shucks, failing any of that then...... a 6sp MT 3.6 V6 AWD / 4WD would be nice in whatever kinda' 'package'.

GM fans can make all the fun of the Raptor they want but it doesn't change the good profits and press it generates.

It may be totally impractical for 99% of the buyers but Ford had to increase production to meet demand.

I bet you say your glass is half empty instead of half full.
Actually, I say that I need more water.

So, of the almost 2 million full-size trucks sold last year, how many people do you think actually needed them?

People don't buy Raptors because they need something to jump. They buy it because it's huge, badass, and looks the part.

Want an offroad vehicle? Buy a Wrangler.

I drive a loaded Accord coupe I got into after my S5 cabriolet, and you know both of those things.

Didn't mean to post the one line reply above without justification. I would say that your generalization of who the Raptor appeals to is just plain incorrect. The Raptor seems to appeal to anybody who wants a badass looking truck, even if they may or may not use its offroad capabilities. To put it plainly, the raptor appeals to a pretty broad audience, so much more so than simply "white trash with money". Plus there is no denying that the Raptor has been a total cash cow for Ford, so GM would be smart to emulate it's formula with the Colorado/Canyon, or even Silverado/Sierra. Make the truck capable, not just some stickers and slightly above average rancho shocks, aka Z71 and All-Terrain package.
