2005 CHEVROLET UPLANDER: MOBILITY AND ACCESSORIES
MOBILITY
General Motors exclusively offers its new Sit-N-Lift power seat as a dealer-installed option on its new 2005-model crossover sport vans, including the Chevrolet Uplander.
The Sit-N-Lift power seat is for people on the go who transport passengers needing easier access to enter or exit a vehicle. Operated by a hand-held remote control, this innovative seat provides convenient access to the right-hand second-row seating area.
"The new Sit-N-Lift seat adds a new level of convenience and functionality for people who need this type of flexibility," said Jim Kornas, director of mobility product development for GM Sales, Service and Marketing.
With a push of the remote control button, the Sit-N-Lift power bucket seat rotates, then extends out of the vehicle and lowers down to approximately 17 inches from seat bottom to ground. The motion of the seat can be stopped at any point to facilitate seating from a standing position or transfer from a wheelchair. Sit-N-Lift also includes a slide-out footrest.
The Sit-N-Lift seat is mounted in the original seat attachments and is installed in place of the second-row passenger seat. Available as a regular production accessory and as an accessory kit through GM Parts Operation, Sit-N-Lift can be installed by the dealer and requires no permanent vehicle modifications.
The new Sit-N-Lift power seat installed on a new GM vehicle at the time of delivery will be covered under the three-year/36,000-mile GM New Vehicle Limited Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty. GM Parts and Accessories permanently installed by a GM dealer after vehicle purchase will be covered for the balance of the new vehicle warranty, but in any event no less than 12 months or 12,000 miles.
ACCESSORIES
In addition to its long list of standard and available features, the new Uplander is supported by GM SPO with a range of GM Accessories available through every Chevrolet dealership.
"Designed to suit the lifestyle interests of Uplander owners, the accessories are tailor-made for the vehicle," said Nancy Philippart, executive director of GM Accessories. "All accessories are designed and manufactured to the same standards as the Uplander's factory-installed components."
From additional storage options to vehicle protection items, the Uplander's comprehensive list of accessories includes:
Overhead storage and accessory system: The Uplander has room for up to three storage systems, depending on which option group is ordered. Each storage system is about 12 inches wide and about 9 inches deep, with a door that flips open and swings down, allowing customers to choose a variety of specifically designed inserts for carrying accessories. The inserts are designed to carry CDs or DVDs, two pairs of sunglasses, most cell phones, a personal digital assistant organizer, a first-aid kit, tissues, or two "Snake Light" flashlights. All inserts are interchangeable and can be easily added to the accessory system. The inserts and storage systems can be ordered through GM dealerships.
Utility bars: The bars attach to the factory-installed roof rails, providing a base mount for bicycle, ski, hard or soft cargo, kayak, canoe and other rooftop carriers.
Side window weather deflectors: Letting in fresh air, while keeping out rain or snow, the contoured deflectors also are tinted to help reduce sunlight glare.
Molded hood protector: Tailored to the Uplander's hood contours, the protector helps deflect road debris and insects.
Security system: A custom-designed security system that works in tandem with the Uplander's electrical system.
All-weather floor mats: Deep, vinyl floor mats collect rain, snow and dirt to protect the vehicle's carpet. Special nibs on the bottom hold the mats in place.
Splash guards: Rubber-reinforced guards protect the vehicle from gravel, mud and road salt. Tough construction means they won't chip, crack or tear.
Trailering packages: A wide variety of hitch packages are available to accommodate numerous trailering needs.
Highway emergency kit: Helpful package includes a first-aid kit, PVC tape, cotton cloth, fuse kit, bungee cord, cotton gloves, flashlight, rain poncho, screwdriver, booster cables, pliers and a "Need Help" banner.
