Holy moly, Chevrolet is planning on unveiling a new Corvette at the Rolex 24 this weekend! Oh, wait. That's not an all-new Corvette, it's a special edition of the current one. But there's nothing wrong with that.

There's not a whole lot of information about what's coming. Just a note in the schedule for the Rolex 24 at Daytona this weekend. "2019 Corvette Special Edition Announcement at the Chevrolet Experience." That could mean anything, but Chevy has a pretty good history of late-run special edition cars.

Think about the C4's Grand Sport, limited to 1,000. You know, the blue one with the white center stripe and the red hash marks? It had the big engine and wider tires, too. Or the C5's Commemorative Edition with a carbon fiber hood. And, of course, the C6's 427 Convertible package.

So what could be available as the upcoming Special Edition for the 2019 car? Well, it could be anything, of course, but since they're revealing it at the Rolex 24, we're hoping for something decidedly motorsports themed. We'll have to wait and see.
