I'm helping my dad look for a new car because the one he had ordered from Toyota in early June cannot be picked up on the date they gave us (August 1st) because after waiting 2 months for the damn car, my parents went to the dealership and were told that Toyota does not build the Camry Hybrid with the specifications requested.:bio::

I know the range of hybrids is still pretty slim, and I'm also checking out the Cadi CTS, Volvo S80, Infiniti G35, ...

I'm currently on the Chevy site trying to build a Malibu Hybrid, but Chevy will only allow me to build a non-hybrid Malibu.

Is the Altima Hybrid available in NY? I believe it is....might be worth a look. What kind of specifications does he require that Toyota is unable to produce, if you don't mind me asking?

I don't think Chevrolet updated their car builder yet for 2009 Models, the Hybrid being a 2009 model. Why not see a local dealer in order to determine whether or not it is a good alternative?

What zip code did you use? It doesn't work for my zip code.....there is no hybrid model, and no hybrid 'trim' to select.

I got it. You can't use the "Build Your Own" thing on the Chevy website.

Go to www.chevrolet.com/Malibu, click "Build Your Own" there, and the Malibu Hybrid should come up as an option.

yeah it probably has to do with where the hybrid is available. he wanted the sunroof, jbl sound, 18s, and no dvd nav system. supposedly toyota doesn't make the hybrid without the nav?

You can get a Camry w/out NAV. However, you know how dealerships work...any given dealership may only order NAV equipped models......that's up to them. But the factory makes Camry hybrids with or without NAV.
