Actually you have put into words your opinion on the name Beat. Your poll has three negative choices and one positive and no option of the name being just OK or at least not being alpha numeric. What would you prefer? How bad is it compared to Scion's names, Toyota's, etc?

The poll seems to diagree with you so far. I like it better than the alpha numeric stuff that has been coming out recently.
The whole world disagrees with me on most things. :p I'm used to it. The poll was kind of a joke - having three negatives and one tiny positive. In any event, I just really hate the name and wondered who else out there hated it as well.

I sure would rather be responsible for marketing the Beat than the xB, yaris, etc. I am asuming that the Beat will be aimed at a younger demographic who's music is full of beats. Something along the lines of the iTunes approach.

Honda also did a great job with the Fit although they don't have to work as hard for mind share in that segment.

What kind of a name for a car is Yaris? But it's a Toyota so it WILL SALE regardless:rolleyes: True for Honda as you said as well.

The Beat will definitly be aimed at the youth with itunes and speaker systems that are attrative to that age group. The Caliber did this with the rear hatch speakers and ipod capatibility. I hope Chevy does nothing that stupid but its the same concept

I actually like the name. Seems young and catchy, just like Vibe. The original Vibe bobbing-head advertising was actually quite catchy. I had many people stare my Vibe down on the road a and bob their head at me when I first got it! My dad even did when I pulled up in it to show him the first time... and my dad was far from being a cool, hip, with-it dude!

When Lutz was having his contest for these cars they should have been producing them. With gas at $4 they be flying out of dealerships and GM would be the only automaker with an increase in sales this month. GM: a billion dollars short and a day late
