Alright I was wrong. I went back to some GM info and they state that the ford ben is 5'6" and the Chevy 1/2 ton Crew's bed is 5'8"

When automakers make their claims, read the fine print. Regardless of the brand name, usually the comparisons are made for the previous model year's "best."

What's with the options on this truck? No lockable tailgate or adjustable pedals? Sure makes it hard to replace my supercrew with a Chevy....

I would like to know why they can't put the Vortec 6000 in the C-K1500 model trucks?
It would be great in 1500HD.

The 6.0L was the ONLY engine available in the 1500HD (really a 2500), but that's dead now.

The 6.0L gets 1 to 2 mpg less than the 5.3, and if you spread that out on even a quarter of the 1500's sold, that's a terrible hit to the CAFE average. It's certainly no worse than the Hemi, but Dodge sells PT Cruisers as trucks, and they sell more minivans too, so that helps out their truck CAFE. Now they will also have the Dodge Magnum classified as a truck, which will help out a little.

Maybe when GM gets the HHR (if it's classified as a truck like the PT), they will be able to make the 6.0L available across the board in the 1500's instead of only in specialty models like the Denali, SS, and those special southern models we read about here.

I don't remember what a 1991 Taurus dash looks like, but I am sure the Silverado dash is close to that

As an owner of a 93 and 95 Taurus....yeah, its pretty damn close. My friends 98 silvy has teh same feel as my old "bull" to the dash and switchgear.

GM really needs to reinvest into 2 interiors, one for work trucks, one for SUV's...and perhaps another one for the Lade.

You know that the interiors were changed in 99.
