Why are there no photos of the rear with those nice CLASSIC CHEVY round tail lights. To me the best view of the coupe version that should have been called CORSA.Cobalt just doesent sound good to me for the coupe or sedan.CORSA would have been mutch better like its grandfather CORVAIR CORSA. <_<

"Corsa" may have also made people think "Corsica" which would have been bad...

But when she sold the car she "had" to have an Accord because in her perception Honda is better. That's the type of mentality that stand in the way of a car like the Cobalt
I think most of the population thinks this way. I have a friend that has said on several occasions "Everyone knows Honda's are better than anything else."

You can't argue or rationalize with these people. They just refuse to believe there are quality American cars.
Yah I guess you have a point there Mr-Pringle I was just looking at it from a grandfather point of view. But your father as in Corsica perspective is HORRIFICLY correct.I just hope it gets proper respect in the marketplace as demonspeed refers to above from the JAPOESTAS. <_<
And on the 7th day God created Honda.......

I know that they make some pretty good cars, but some of these Hondaphiles are really out there.

Hopefully the Cobalt can sway some of the more reasonable people back, and if the car is good enough, the word of mouth can spread and bring back some of the "hardliners"

GM should offer an "owner dis-loyalty" program, giving incentives to people who trade in Hondas, Toyotas or Nissans for Cobalts.

I for one, and I am not into small cars or 4 bangers, happen to love the Cobalt SS coupe, I would consider owning one.

I would like to see the the SS with 220-230hp, but even 200-210hp would be okay, there are some out there that think that the car would not be accepted by the "tuner" crowd if it does not have at least 220hp, well how do they accept the 90-110hp Civics that they have been modifying for years now?

I am just happy that they did not call it the X-treme......Colbalt SS, I can say with pride. Colbalt X-treme is just dark blue.

Don't argue with them. Force them to ride in a well-built American vehicle. If they insist on saying that Honda is better, take them for a ride in an LS1, Cobra, or other fast vehicle. If they still say Honda is better, arrange to ship them off to Europe with the rest of the silly anti-American crowd.

That interior is bad *** for a little car like that, almost as nice looking as a VW jetta's quality wise from the picture and a hell of alot better than the Mali and G6.
I sure hope the interior is better than the Jetta's. One of my friends has a Jetta and it has the worst interior I've ever seen. It is so uncomfortable that I can't even stand riding in it anymore.

Well, what's funny about my friend is he has a 74 Camaro, 00 WS6, 95 Explorer, and a 00 Focus. He just bought a 99 Si though... He's a weird individual.
Could he be getting JAPOESTAIDES it is going around you know. Most of the media have it now and meny collage students these days. :mf_boff:
Good exterior. The interior looks nice, but I'd like to sit in it to see what it is really like. I worry that if the sales aren't strong GM will say "well nuts to this car" and drop it instead of improving whatever faults it may have. I doubt that will happen because I think it will sell just fine.

I like the interior.  I'm not overly fond of the outside, though, because it just has a warmed-over Cavalier feel, even though it's more than that.  I guess time will tell how the public likes it.

Oh, why do all the exterior shots have that dude in them?  Are these pictures of the car, or that guy?
do you know who "that guy" is?

Over all its a nice car. I hope they just go with a supercharged flavor for the SS only. No optional engine. The SS line should be top of the line handling braking and performance.[/b][/quote]

That "Guy" is Gary L. Cowger, President of GM North American Operations.......

Nice, but a Camaro replacement or a response to the new '05 Mustang GT it ain't. At this point, I'd even take a poorly drawn, crayola-painted picture of what Chevy plans to fill the market with rather than all the 'official' pics of the entire chevy line for '05. C'mon Mr. Lutz, my $25k is waiting. :drevil:
I want this one.

You aren't going to get a Camaro replacement or Mustang fighter in a car that is taking the Cavalier's place. That being said, this car beats the hell out of a Cavalier, at least styling-wise. Good job GM.
Here is a better Interior pic of the Cobalt SS, it does have a different stereo than the G6/Malibu/Equinox

at least from what i can tell...

That picture is way over flashed. The white is actually silverish.
My point is that: I have a considerable amount of cash saved to buy a decent, new RWD coupe w/ v8 that has a BowTie on the nose and DOESN'T have a bed attached. While I like the GTO (1) it aint a Chevy, (2)there are imited number of them for sale and (3) the dreaded Dealer's price adjustment make it not a candidate for purchase.

So September isn't that far away & there may be a Ford in my future; not a whimpy 200 hp FWD Cobalt, regardless of how new (or nice-looking) it may be :drevil:
If we all listen to rumors, you'll be saving quite a bit of money by the fall of 2006 for your Camaro replacment. I, like yourself, am stubborn enough to only by a Chevrolet. I'll be content in my 01 Camaro until the next gen comes out. By then, this will be paid off so I can get another toy. Dedicated drag car for the 01 then :D

about the interior... I sure hope that's the flash... that white isn't going to fly!

Wow...greatly improved that's for sure. BTW I've owned 2 J-bodies 1995 Z24, and 1999 Z24. Can't wait to see it in person. :)
