During the reveal of the 2014 CTS Cadillac slipped in the fact that the XTS would also gain power from the brand's new 3.6-liter twin-turbo V-6. Well, today Cadillac has affirmed that the twin-turbo XTS will in fact be called a VSport model, the brand's new name for high-performance models that aren't quite as extreme as, say, a 556 horsepower CTS-V. Along with the VSport confirmation, Cadillac also confirmed that it will set buyers back about $63,020 to get one.
The XTS VSport generates a healthy 410 horsepower and 369 foot-pounds of torque thanks to about 12 pounds of boost from the two turbochargers and a host of other enhancements over the 3.6-liter V-6 that we all know so well. Unlike the CTS VSport that will also use the boosted V-6, the XTS has to make do with a six-speed automatic versus a newer eight-speed.
Buyers may add VSport to the Premium or Platinum "collections" on the 2014 XTS, both of which are the highest trim levels offered on it and all Cadillac's. Hopefully it goes without saying that those 410 horses can only go through XTS with all-wheel drive.
Cadillac also announced that base XTS pricing will remain unchanged for 2014, meaning the car remains having a starting price of $45,525 including destination charges. The new XTS VSport will go into production this August.
