The entire vehicle looks too tall to me. Especially the front and rear in the pictures. The side view is just awkward with the DLO ending abruptly, leaving a big gap of sheet metal until you hit the trunk.

In the end, I think I like the outgoing SRX's design better.

Boo Hoo... Just admit it. It's better than you thought. I won't think bad about you. ;)

Not sure why some on here think it looks stubby looking. If you look at the small-midsize competition in spite of being rear wheel or front wheel drive competitors, they look stubby as well in some ways but they look good depending on how well they are designed.

I think this thing is absolutely gorgeous and I like the looks of it a lot.

They're grasping at straws because they look stupid for having a knee jerk reaction to unofficial pictures, and don't want to admit that it looks pretty sensational!

Thing is, it doesn't. It still looks like a hot mess. The proportions are terrible, the DLO is awkward, and the entire thing looks like it's jacked up on stilts. How this and the CT6 came out of the same design studio I'll never know.

The MKX is far better looking than it in my opinion.

Again merely your opinion, and I'd say most people will look at this and see a cohesive and classy design. Do a poll, and my guess is that when all of the pictures of the exterior/interior are available more will like it than not, and by a good margin.

It needs a chromed lower intake. The grille is just too high and heavy looking.

No it doesn't, you're thinking of Mercedes the current masters of gilding the lilly. That's what they would do. Most states require a front license plate and that'll be enough details. It doesn't need any more chrome. It has just enough brightwork to be tasteful and classy, not tacky.

Perhaps so.

But the XT5 is a FWD vehicle and there's no hiding it. I'm not saying this is axiomatically bad, but the proportional possibilities of a RWD vehicle are definitely superior (in my opinion, anyway).

That said, the market doesn't seem to much care about this and they buy vehicles like the XT5 in large numbers, considerably larger than the RWD counterparts.

If Cadillac gets a larger, car-based crossover I hope it's built on a RWD Platform.

You know quite a few RWD based Crossovers have very small area between the door and front wheel well that looks similar to a FWD based vehicle. Don't believe me? Go check you'll see I'm correct and you've never noticed it. For example, check the current Escalade.

I love my Land Rover and plan on getting the Discovery 5 next September if it is out, but as of yet no prototypes have been spotted (Could be disguised under a RR Sport I suppose?) which makes me think perhaps it's been pushed off 12-18 months to make adjustments to the body in white. I saw the prototype last September and I'm the only person that liked it lol. Based on that feedback LR may have said "*****, we need to dial it back a bit". It was too swoopy for LR3/4 owners to swallow. Not Boxy enough, even though interior volume is not much different. Anyhow if it isn't ready, then The XT5 is the only non JLR product I'll consider.

Oh for sure I'll look at the F-Pace.:)

BTW if you prefer the MKX over this I can certainly understand that, as the MKX is a very good looking and tasteful effort on Lincoln's part. IMO Both Lincoln and Cadillac are schooling most of the competitors with how to make a classy and understated visually appealing CUV/SUV without referring to the origami school of car design, or predator movies.

Sweeeeeeeet!!!!

But HATERS GONNA HATE! :p:

I like it more the more I see it. Very unlike the 2nd gen SRX which kept getting uglier in my eyes.

Funny you should say that because I think the SRX got better with age. My only gripe is the front looks a tad bit too pointy, but the new XT5 has fixed that. Oh and the current SRX would have looked a lot better if it was about 2" wider.

I don't see why you think the cts flawed?
Speaking of which Yahoo had a great review of the CTS yesterday. I think it was Digital trends? Or something, but it was beyond glowing. The Reviewer mentioned how everywhere he went people stopped to comment on how good looking the car was. Still trying to relocate the article. It shows that Cadillac is clearly not promoting the vehicle correctly if so many admire the CTS, but so few actually buy/lease one.
