my sister, who recently sold off her civic, was in a lookout for a new car to replace it.

Test drove another civic, but I WAS HORRIFIED that the brand new car had transmission problems with it.

The 3rd and 5th gear in M/T model kept popping into neutral for no reason......is it a peculiar civic problem? (my sister's older car had an auto.)

Currently she sometimes uses my merc or sometimes the company's car.

often i had to fight with my parents to use their sonata diesel for my use.:(

I had talked to General motor's India office about a cadillac CTS, SINCE I FELL IN LOVE WITH IT...:) when i saw it in the new delhi auto show and they told me that the car will be available in right-hand drive in june 2009 in India!

My first reaction was....wooooww! But some questions now persist in my mind..
Will the new CTS DI come in RHD EVER?
How reliable is it?
Worth keeping for at least 8 years?
Easy to drive for young ladies in an automatic equipped car?
gas mileage not a problem since the company is going to bear the conveyance charges upto 60%.
is it easy to maintain?
can it handle our rough roads without any trouble?
is the body and suspension robust enough?

these are the questions that come into my mind but since many of you guys are already familiar with this vehicle, please give our experiances with the new 2008/09 CTS 3.6 V6 DI.

I can afford to wait for another one year to buy this car (me and my sister will together spend our hard-earned money which we are starting to SAVE FROM NOW).
Again, the car will be kept for AT LEAST 8 YEARS.

Me and my sister's heart says-yes, buy it but again, head says otherwise.

GUYS PLEASE HELP ME OUT!!!
CAN A FUTURE CTS (FOR MY SISTER)COMPLIMENT MY MERC C CLASS?
WILL I EVER BE TEMPTED TO DITCH MY MERC, GIVE THE MERC TO MY SISTER AND START USING THE CTS FOR MY OWNSELF AND LOVE IT FOR YEARS TO COME?

my intention was not to bore you with this just another potential cadillac story thread but we are committed to buy our first Cadillac in our life,:)
and to make our parents proud!!

i cannot act immediately:rolleyes: i have to wait for one full year since the car won't be launched before june 2009 and we will buy sometime in august next year.

I am convincing my parents to sell the sonata buy the time this car comes with us.

The money coming from its sale will also help us to buy it.

i am expecting it to be priced about the same level as that of C 230,that is about Rs. 3,700,000 (including the import duties) or about US $ 85,000 according to present average exchange rates, which is insane.

I am just praying for my sister to do her progress well (she has also joined in Tata Motors truck division, HR general manager, recently after quitting mass media job which sucks for me. i told her- I love you very much, I want you to buy yourself a caddy, why not come in the company which enabled me to own the merc due to my hard work?

i told her to work hard to her full dedication, save as much as possible and after one year or so, i m confident that we will colectively end up buying one.:)

Well... seeing as she works for Tata Motors.... why not get the XF??
:D

I would expect higher for the CTS DI. That car is $36,000 base MSRP in the US. And a C300 in the US has a base of $32,000.
You're probably looking at Rs. 4.0-4.3M.

From what I've seen from Mercedes nowadays (don't get me wrong, they're still very nice cars), you will end up ditching yours for her CTS.

Yup :yup: My friend has one of them new C-Classes with a Kompressor something or another written on it. I wasn't impressed much.. It was nicer than I thought, and nicer than the old one, but to me the CTS was the much better car.
I know I know the CTS should be compared with the E-Class and not C-Class, but :D

The RHD CTS will be available soon in the UK and Japan with Australia and India not far behind. They will hold up just as well as any other car on your roads as I see them conquering the Afghani-like streets of Houston. They will probably price it between the C-Class and the E-Class with the 2.8L petrol as standard with optional 3.6L DI petrol and 2.9L diesel with either 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmissions with AWD as an option.

The CTS you will get in India should be exactly as it is in the UK and it will be on the UK website later this summer.
