They did go from a dig.I don't think there is a single person, even on a Nissan forum, that would be surprised that the more powerful RWD Vette would walk away from the heavier, less powerful, AWD GT-R with a Nascar start.
I think it's pretty clear were the GT-R excels and that would be at putting the most of it's power efficiently to the pavement through the corners which makes it easy to drive fast, even for less than professional drivers.
Not that I condone street racing or have ever done it myself but very few street races start from a 40 mph roll with two powerful cars involved because you typically run out of room in a matter of seconds. The 40mph roll racing is usually reserved for Honda's and other equally slow cars. I would like to see these two square off from a dig to about 80mph which would be a more likely scenario.
True that!I don't think there is a single person, even on a Nissan forum, that would be surprised that the more powerful RWD Vette would walk away from the heavier, less powerful, AWD GT-R with a Nascar start.

I would like to see a CLEAN race from a dig to 80mph since the guy in the GT-R seemed clueless on how to use launch control and the Z06 jumped after two honks. I wonder at what mph the Z06 goes screaming by. I guess it really would heavily depend on available traction and how good the Z06 driver was. They did go from a dig.
The Z06 with Hennessy especially the 2009 would spank any GT-R...I would like to see a CLEAN race from a dig to 80mph since the guy in the GT-R seemed clueless on how to use launch control and the Z06 jumped after two honks. The main concern was that the GT-R fanboi's claimed launch control gave the GT-R the edge in acceleration when the GT-R was first introduced.I don't think there's a single GT-R fanboi who would dispute straightline performance. It's pretty much a given. But if that's what you think the GT-R is about, more power to you.
I wonder how many people here would enjoy riding in an Elise or a souped up Mitsu Evo...
There's really no "concern" here. Launch control gives many cars an advantage going really quick off the block. It does give the GT-R a big advantage as well........versus not having launch control. The main concern was that the GT-R fanboi's claimed launch control gave the GT-R the edge in acceleration when the GT-R was first introduced.
In other words, the Nissan fanboi's did think that's what the GT-R was all about.
I think the main reason for the rolling starts is so they can keep the turbos spooled. Those cars have zero torque in the low RPM band.but very few street races start from a 40 mph roll with two powerful cars involved because you typically run out of room in a matter of seconds. The Z06 is really the king of Torque in this rangeI think the main reason for the rolling starts is so they can keep the turbos spooled. Those cars have zero torque in the low RPM band.
