Buick's Avenir sales are growing, and the brand is working to grow them even further. It's adding the Avenir premium trim to the Regal, expanding the lineup to three models.

While overall sedan sales are falling, Buick says that demand for midsize cars in the $30 to $40,000 range is growing. About 30 percent in the last four years. And half of all Regal Sportback buyers are picking the top Essence trim level. So it seemed an ideal place to expand the Avenir brand.

On the outside, the Regal Avenir adds a three-dimensional mesh upper grille, inspired by Buick concept cars. 19-inch alloys in an exclusive pearl nickel finish help complete the exterior look. Inside the Regal, the Avenir has exclusive detailing like a whisper beige interior with ebony accents, quilted front seats, and embroidered headrests. More notably, the Regal Avenir adds Buick's latest infotainment system. A cloud-connected system with embedded apps and enhanced voice recognition. Owners will now be able to save their unique preferences and take them from vehicle to compatible vehicle.

The Regal Avenir will arrive this fall, with the 250 hp 2.0L turbo-four and nine-speed automatic transmission.
