BMW Working on Minivanlike Vehicle
Date Posted 03-11-2004

Don't call them minivans — but BMW is studying the possibility of adding a people-mover vehicle to its lineup that would have some minivan characteristics. Automotive News reports that the company hasn't yet approved the vehicles it is currently studying, but the niche is one that the company does not field a vehicle in yet. The two concepts under study would be tall-roofed wagons based on the same hardware as the 5 Series sedan or the X5 and X3 sport-utility vehicles. The weekly adds that the vehicles, if approved for production, would feature six- and eight-cylinder engines, 18-inch wheels and as many as six seats.

 !
Er... the Chrysler Town & Country was supposed to be the luxury minivan leader. Notice how it's almost always overlooked... because that market segment is not "cool".
Keep it up, BMW! Keep diluting your brand!

Cadillac's ready to pick up your market share!
I don't see it as diluting. I see it as expanding.
There are few luxury minivans. This opens the door to enter that market.

Diluting is making 4 identical subpar minivans. (GM CSV's).
MB has already produced crappy minivans(Vaneo&Viano)
BMW it is your turn!!!!!!!!!!!! :p
