Hey,

I'd be grateful if any of you guys know the answer to a question I've had for a while. How strong is the tailgate of a Blazer? I've got a 2004 4 door 4x4, and I'm cautious about sitting or standing on the tailgate because I don't know what it'll hold.

It may amuse some of you to learn I sent Chevy an e-mail about this only to get a polite, though unhelpful, reply a few hours later stating they didn't know the answer to my question and suggested I search "my favorite web search engine" to find the answer (which I had already done, with no luck).

Any Blazer-owners out there who can help me out?

I thought that all Blazers made use of the liftgate/hatch since 2000?

 They HAVE to know... someone engineered it didn't they? They just didn't want find the data, or risk any liability when you laid Baby Huey up there to change a stinky one and the kid bounced off the pavement...

Sorry to sound so jaded... but check some of the Corvette forums ref the 2005 front license plate bracket. GM/Chevy do just what they want and no more - the customer be damned.
