We all have our favourite badges and we definitely have allegiances, rational or not(<---Pontiac Fans :p:). Forget about quality, reliability, performance. What is the best aesthetic/design of each model. ie Best impala, best vette, etc.

I'll start with my local hero:
VY SS Commodore
Definitely the sharpest of the lot. The shape preceeding was a bit too blobby (though still nice) and the generation after, added unnecessary detail that just made it look like exactly what it was: Mutton Dressed as lamb (that's the same model as my wagon by the way :D).

In my opinion, the best Corvette is a tie between the current model and the '63-'67's.

The best Bonneville was the '92-'99's. They nailed the looks with that bodystyle.

I have lots of favorites, but I will go with the 61-62 Impala, especially the bubble tops. Such a clean design and back in 61-62 people overwhelmingly loved them as well. I believe Chevrolet sold over 1 millions units a year in those days. Of course there are the 63-67 Vettes as someone else stated already. The current model is the ****e too. I would have to add the 1949-50 Oldsmobile Rocket 88 Fastback to the list as well.

I will add to my list the 53 Studebaker Commander which I would love to have, and also add the 59 Studebaker Lark VIII, which i have a fondness for because I had one, unfortunately I sold it and regret it to this day.

Ahhh the best of...

Chevrolet: toss up between the '61 and the '65. '55 gets honorable mention.
Pontiac: toss up between '64 and '67
Oldsmobile: 2nd-gen Aurora.
Buick: another toss up. '61 LeSabre or '65 Wildcat? Can't make up my mind.

Chev midsizers: '68/'69, hands down (prefer the '68s sleeker tail lights design)
Pontiac midsizers: '68/'69, hands down (prefer the '69s tail lights design)
Cutlass: '68, hands down (love them spread-out headlights)
Skylark/Special: '61, hands down.

Monte Carlo: none. They all looked like dogshyt (sorry knightfan!)
Grand Prix: '69/'70.
Camaro: '67/'68. They got fat and bloated after that.
Firebird: '70/'72. Bit bloated, but the best-looking of the nameplate
Riviera: the '63s. Stunning automobile.
'vette: '63-'67. Every other Corvette was either ugly, vulgar, or both. Yes, even the current chestwig-chariot...

Chevy Truck: '71/'72.

Ford fullsizers: '66, hands down. Beautiful car.
Ford midsizers: '68/'69 Torino. My #2 favourite American car.
Ford Thunderbird: '67/'68.
Mercury: '68s.
Lincoln: '61-'64 Continental. Breathtaking.

Aussie Ford: XA Falcon Hardtop (I hated the XB)
Holden: HQ Monaro 4-door
Aussie Chizzler: VH Charger
**I always envisioned a car I called "Valiant Magnum" — a 383-powered VH 4-door with Charger grille and cheezeball 70s "Rally" blackout. As a boy, I wrote a letter to Chrysler SA asking them to build one for me! They actually responded, with a polite letter explaining that I was only eight years old and couldn't drive, but they liked my idea! They included some nice brochures. Still remember their address — POB 411, Pretoria...**

Dodge fullsize: '66 Monaco. Dr. Christiaan Bernard drove one...
Dodge midsize: '66 Coronet. Elwood Engel's 2nd best design. Gorgeous.
Chrysler: '64 New Yorker. Not a beauty, but just so distinctive-looking...
Other Mopar: '71-'72 Satellite Sebring. Loved that perimeter bumper...

Anyone notice a trend here? In over 100 years, Detroit only managed to make pretty cars for less than ten...

*Edit*

Crap! Scratch that '68 Tempest and make it a '64 GTO! Jeeze I can't believe I let that one slip by me! I just love all those 68/69 A-bodies SO much!

Also, I just noticed there's no such thing as a Monaro 4-door, so make that a Holden HQ GTS!

I reckon the VT SS was pretty slick. I saw a mint black one on the side of the road for sale for $11K the other day. I thought about it...

Hands down the HQ GTS in either 2 or 4 door, or HQ Monaro LS are the sexiest cars Holden ever made.

The WB Ute was pretty purposeful too

T-REX, I stole your format and mentioned where I agreed and changed where I didn't.

Chevrolet: I've gotta go with the bubble tops and, you'll notice a theme here, '67

Pontiac: toss up between '64 and '67 (agreed)

GM midsizers: Any '66/'67
Monte Carlo: '70 454SS, hell yeah!
Camaro: '67. Actually a '67 with '68 doors would be best.
Firebird: See above
Riviera: the '63s. Stunning automobile. (agreed)
Corvette: '67 Tri-Power and possibly the coolest hood ever. 2nd place: '69 Corvette. It looked really good as a 'vert. And C6 Z06 and ZR1.

Chevy Truck: Just like Camaro, '67 had the best front clip, and no side marker lights.

Ford: '32, '33, '34, and '40 Coupes, just about any RPU
Ford fullsizers: '66, hands down. Beautiful car. (agreed)
Ford midsizers: '68/'69 Torino. (agreed)
Mustang: '69-'70
Ford Thunderbird: pass
Lincoln: '56-'57 Continental, '61-'64 Continental.

Aussie Ford: XA Falcon Hardtop (I hated the XB) No way!, the XB looked nasty, but that's what makes it cool, like '70s MOPAR muscle cars.
Holden: HK Monaro 2-door

Plymouth: '67 Barracuda
Dodge: '70 Charger

10 years of good-looking cars? That's a bit harsh. The '60s and early '70s were the best for some styles, but the 30s, 40s, and 50s have their share of great stuff.

Would anyone agree this is one of the sexiest cars of all time?

I go batshyt over '61-'63 Thunderbirds. They are my favorite generation of Thunderbirds. Ford got every detail right.

My uncle had one of those back in the day. We were just looking at old family photos the other day and this car was front and center in one of the photos.
